How does PHPBB read MYSQL with foriegn text?

Salam Alikom,

I am working on an Arabic website, I downloaded the PHPBB (translated) from phpbbarabia.

Now looking at the database, I see that Arabic text are inserted as:

ÇáãÈÑãÌ ÇáÕÛíÑ --> Username


Now the PHPBB board easily shows it in Arabic text, but How.

I tried to echo it, but it comes up same as above, keeping in mind that there are other Arabic text in there (all html formating is correct+ISO).

How do I translate the above, or how does PHPBB do it.

I dont have the URL (The site i am still working ala el localhost)..

Bes I already found the problem, kan lazim a3mel el charset to windows 1256..
